European Natural Gas

The European Gas markets are undergoing radical restructuring as extraction from the North Sea declines, dependence on gas from Eastern Europe and LNG sources grows and wholesale markets are opened up.

Our European Natural Gas desk entered the market in 2003. They have built a solid base in these rapidly emerging markets.

They are a leading broker in the liquid Dutch TTF market. Were the first broking team to arrange contracts in the French PEG market.

ICAP has been at the forefront in promoting the German BEB and EGT hubs where liquidity is growing fast.

	Pani Christou - European Natural Gas Desk Pani read Economics with Business Studies at London University. His career in the City started in Treasury Management before moving to the LIFFE exchange in 1997 where for two years he developed trading strategies. In 1999 he became a founding member of ICAP UK Natural Gas Desk. In 2002 he started the European Gas Desk.
	Sonja Manhart - European Natural Gas Desk Sonja was born and educated in Austria reading Mathematics and Music at University. On graduation she joined the diplomatic service working at various embassies in the Caribbean and Central America. In 2001 she moved to London and joined ICAP European Natural Gas team. Sonja is fluent in German, French and English.
	David Thorp - European Natural Gas Desk David joined our European Natural Gas team in 2002. Before that he brokered in the currency markets specialising in Japanese Yen.
	Alessandro Esposito - European Natural Gas Desk Alessandro was born in Naples and graduated in Business Studies. Keen to work for himself he created a successful wholesale clothing business. Alessandro sold the Company and spent time travelling before relocating to London. He has been part of ICAP flourishing European Natural Gas team since September 2006. Alessandro speaks fluent Italian and English.
